g33k wAr3z
I'm a self proclaimed "geek", although you would be hard pressed to find anyone to disagree with this statement. I prefer geek to nerd and my line of thinking is pretty straight-forward. Geeks are passionate and tend to be more extroverted (even if introverts), whereas most nerds I know (and I may know one or two) tend to be more introverted. Nerds are wicked smart, so no offence is intended if you're a nerd and proud of it. I just happen to feel like geeks "get some" and can carry on a conversation a little better, but please let your freak flag fly with whichever term you prefer my friend. At any rate, I'm one of those geeks thats just about always wearing a funny, graphic T-shirt. Sometimes cryptic, often with a deeper meaning, and almost always an ice breaker or conversational piece.
g33k wAr3z has been a reoccurring idea for a clothing line that i've had since about the year 2000. ThinkGeek was a favorite online shop before GameStop out-bid HotTopic for them in 2015 and systematically ruined the brand (Power to Geeknet Inc. for the $20/share & $37M in cash I guess). The g33k wAr3z name came about as multiple plays on words. g33k wAr3z (wears) T-Shirt, g33k wAr3z gitch (a slang word for underwear), g33k wAr3z hoodie ... you get the idea. The additional 'l337 5p33k' for spelling and wArez over wears was a tip of my hat to my grey-hat roots (I was a phreak in my youth and did pen-testing for dial-up Internat access throughout college ... hack the planet!).
It's never really gotten off the ground or the attention it deserves, in 2020 I briefly started playing around with a print on demand/drop-shipping variant and still own the domain https://g33kwar3z.com. Perhaps this year I'll carve out some time to focus on it.
